02 Hybrid Tower(s)
TYPE: VERTICAL HIGH DENSITY _ MIXED USE
Visiting: SHoP Architects, KPFF Engineering
INITIATIVE
The State of Oregon through House Bill 2001, 2019, has pursued the "densification" of building as an answer to address the lack of housing, rising costs of housing, reduction of urban sprawl (reduction of carbon emissions), and to synergize areas to a greater cohesive community network.
The goal of Hybrid Tower(s) is to offer a well though out design to address all of these points, using a "vertical" density proposal that is unique to Portland metro. Hybrid Tower(s) also aims to be a building that is an echo of Portland itself, the University of Oregon’s Architecture Department long standing commitment to sustainable architecture, and creating projects Oregon can embrace as their own.
